True Face

“Give it to me!” she hissed.

He trembled. “B-but, it’s for…for the…”

“Tooth Fairy?” Her eyes flashed in fury. “Who the hell do you think I am?”

His eyes widened in shock. “You?”

She bared her teeth, grotesque, jagged, misshapen. She snatched the tooth from his shaking fingers.

“No one ever said I was pretty.”

B-but, did she give him the coins?

Damn it, Elizabeth, if only I could write as you! Another masterpiece :)

    • Elizabeth John

Ha, ha, ha, Austin, no she did not! I like to think that the last thing she thought about giving him the coins…she probably gave him something far worse in exchange! :-)

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

      Hello Katrina–
Thank you for stopping by to take a moment to read and comment. I like trying to come up with new and original takes on familiar stories and ideas. It doesn’t always work, but I do love the challenge, and I think I did okay with this one! :-)

      Thanks again!

  • Chris M

Well done! I’ve got kids with loose teeth but, much as I like this, I’m not going to share this story with them … yet 😛

    • Elizabeth John
